New Capital Ministry of Defense

The Octagon is the new headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, being part of a much larger initiative to move all government offices to the new administrative capital. The establishment of the new headquarters aims to be the largest in the Middle East and is located in the New Capital, Greater Cairo.

The headquarters extends over a total area of 22,000 acres (92 km2), with approximately 50,500,000 square feet (1,120 acres) of floor area. The headquarters includes 13 regions – each with its own role – making it the largest defense headquarters in the world. The Octagon is part of a large corporation, which includes places of worship, clubs, hotels, schools, playgrounds, housing projects, shopping centers, hospitals, and civil and administrative services complexes. The place is secured by two units of the Republican Guard, and other security means.

Al-Alama Contracting & Supplies Company carried out HVAC and firefighting works for Building No. 7 of the Ministry. And main irrigation pump station.
